China was the destination for SEANET’s 2012 Company Retreat as the team trails the ancient route of The Silk Road.
Even an overnight flight could not shadow the team’s excitement as we proceeded with visits to Tiannamen Square, The Forbidden City, the Niujie Mosque and a trishaw ride around Hutong in the Dongcheng District.
The team soaked in the aptly rich Chinese cultures and histories, walking along the pathway to the Temple of Heaven and down the Great Corridor of the Summer Palace.
Having scaled part of the Great Wall of China at Mutiayu, of which is an accomplishment for many; it is truly an architectural wonder and one of the greatest sights in the world.
In Xi’an, the seemingly idyllic countryside left many of us in awe at first sight of The Great Terracotta Warriors and walking through the streets of the Muslim Quarters, the team sampled tasty local delights that certainly entice your taste buds. We ended our last night in Xi’an with a sensational Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.
It was a wonderful heritage trail, indeed!
