March 6 2007, the Kingdom of Cambodia e-Passport was officially launched by General Hok Lundy, National Police Commissioner and witnessed by Malaysia Ambassador to Kingdom of Cambodia, H.E. Dato' Adnan Othman, Maj. Gen. Suos Angkear, Director of Department of Statistics and Passport Department, Pol. Maj. Gen. Thong Lim, Director of Immigration Department, as well as other dignitaries. With the introduction of e-Passport, autogates has been installed at the Phnom Penh International Airport for faster and secure immigration processing and will be deployed progressively at major Kingdom of Cambodia airports and land border crossings.
